FCT, Abuja – The federal government has officially closed the recruitment portals for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services.

This, however, marks the end of the application stage for interested Nigerians.

FG begins nationwide recruitment.

Recall that the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), operating under the federal government, has announced the commencement of a new nationwide recruitment exercise.

The recruitment drive covered multiple entry-level and professional positions across Nigeria’s Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services. According to the official notice, eligible candidates were invited to apply for three distinct categories of roles.

The application portal remained open and accessible. Prospective candidates were advised to complete their applications before the deadline of August 4th, 2025, in order to be considered for any of the roles on offer.

In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, CDCFIB expressed gratitude to all applicants for their interest in joining the services.

“We thank all applicants for their interest and commitment to serving with honour, integrity and national pride,” the statement read.

CDCFIB: Shortlisting to begin soon

With the application phase concluded, the board announced that the next stage will involve shortlisting qualified candidates.

“Successful applicants will receive direct notifications via email and text message,” CDCFIB said.

According to the CDCFIB,

“Shortlisted candidates will be contacted shortly with further instructions. Please monitor your email and text messages over the coming weeks for notifications.”

The board urged applicants to remain vigilant and to rely only on official sources for recruitment information.

It advised them to regularly check the recruitment portal and its verified social media accounts for important updates.

Fire service announces close of application portal

The Federal Fire Service, which also shared the announcement on its official platform, reiterated the need for applicants to follow these guidelines closely.

“We encourage you to regularly check the portal and social media handles for important updates,” the agency stated.

CDCFIB: Commitment to transparency

The CDCFIB and its agencies have assured the public that the shortlisting process will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

They reminded candidates that no payment is required at any stage of the recruitment process, warning against fraudulent schemes.

Civil service recruitment: FG begins shortlisting of candidates

Previously, Legit.ng reported that the federal government started shortlisting candidates for recruitment into the Federal Civil Service, months after the announcement of over 70 job openings across various ministries and agencies.
