Indosat’s Mobile Brand IM3 Launches SATSPAM

Indosat’s mobile brand, IM3, has launched SATSPAM (Satuan Anti Scam dan SPAM)—an automated digital protection and anti-spam service integrated directly within the IM3 network.

At the launch, alongside Indosat’s leadership, hundreds of yellow troops and the public, IM3 collaborated with Najwa Shihab to take to the streets for the Parade SATSPAM (Satuan Anti Scam dan Spam) at Jakarta’s Thamrin Car Free Day. The parade symbolizes the #NomorModusNoMore movement as a form of public education about the dangers of spam and scam threats, while introducing SATSPAM as an automatic digital protection solution.

Unlike most security tools that require manual settings or additional apps, SATSPAM activates automatically when IM3 customers use any active data package. This system works in real-time on the IM3 network to detect, filter, and alert users about potential digital fraud through SMS or suspicious phone calls. Therefore, users do not need to respond to these suspicious calls and messages. Users can also contribute to this system by reporting suspicious numbers through the myIM3 app. More than just a feature, SATSPAM marks a strategic milestone for IM3 in setting a new standard of digital security in Indonesia’s telecommunications industry.

With IM3 SATSPAM, Indonesians can now answer calls and read messages without fear or worry of digital fraud from unknown numbers. SATSPAM comes in two levels of protection:

SATSPAM BASIC: Automatically enabled for all IM3 Prepaid users with an active data package, no additional settings needed. New users can simply activate the Kartu Perdana IM3 at Rp35,000 to enjoy this feature, which includes basic protection such as automatic detection of suspicious numbers during calls or SMS.

SATSPAM+: Designed for users seeking enhanced protection, SATSPAM+ includes advanced capabilities that classify incoming calls—spam, scam, or trusted—so users can make faster, safer decisions. It is automatically available for all IM3 Prepaid users with data packages of Rp50,000 or more and for IM3 Platinum Postpaid users by granting access permission through the myIM3 app. SATSPAM+ also provides real-time detection of malicious links in SMS, as well as sending weekly threat reports directly through the myIM3 app. All of this is to ensure simple yet comprehensive protection without the need for complicated processes.

Through SATSPAM, IM3 demonstrates how AI and 5G can drive not only innovation but also become the foundation of national digital resilience. Customers can enjoy automated scam protection simply by activating a 3GB IM3 starter pack for Rp35,000 or a Rp50,000+ data package for enhanced protection, with no extra installation needed. Full information about SATSPAM can be found at www.im3.id/SATSPAM.

Bilal Kazmi, Director & Chief Commercial Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison

Through SATSPAM, IM3 takes a proactive step in ensuring safer digital experiences from the threat of spam and scam for Indonesians, as part of AIvolusi5G technology, a secure, intelligent network built with cutting-edge AI and responsive 5G technology from Indosat that is responsive, adaptive, and relevant. We believe that the right to feel safe in digital spaces belongs to everyone, and technology must serve as protection, not just connectivity. SATSPAM is not merely a feature. It’s a tangible commitment to earning and maintaining public trust in an increasingly complex digital world, proving that the future of the digital world must start from an equitable sense of security for all. In line with the spirit of Indonesia’s Independence Day, SATSPAM represents freedom from digital scam threats, unlocking greater opportunities for people and encouraging the appropriate use of technology.

Najwa Shihab, senior journalist and public figure

Digital scams are not just annoying, they are modern crimes that exploit trust and public vulnerability. As of today, 64% of spam victims in Indonesia have been targeted via calls or text messages, and from November 2024 to January 2025 alone, digital fraud caused a total financial loss of Rp476 billion. These figures show that most people still lack proper protection. I fully support IM3’s launch of SATSPAM, not just as a new feature, but as a concrete form of social responsibility. Digital protection must be inclusive and accessible, so that safety becomes a right for everyone and a real step toward building digital literacy in Indonesia.
