Insurers have been urged to “up the ante” against the rising number of younger consumers engaging in household fraud in order to gain a gadget upgrade.

Steve Phillips, head of fraud services at Legal & General, announced the results of a recent nationwide survey which revealed 18 to 24-year-olds are the most likely to exaggerate a claim.
