In a coordinated action, a joint team of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and personnel of Ramagundam Police Commissionerate on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) busted a cyber financial fraud setup by arresting four persons at Jannaram in Mancherial district.

According to the police, the meticulously planned joint operation led to the arrest of four persons operating the illegal SIM Box setup from Jannaram in Mancherial district and seizure of several SIM cards as well as gadgets used in the cyber offence.

Complaint received through Chakshu portal

This follows a complaint received by the DoT, Hyderabad, through the Chakshu Portal regarding cyber fraud involving impersonation calls. The complainant reported receiving threatening calls from individuals falsely posing as government officials, warning about the imminent disconnection of their mobile phones, a press release said.

Following a comprehensive enquiry by the DoT, the SIM Box operation was traced to Jannaram in Mancherial district. Subsequently, the joint operation was conducted by utilising advanced technical surveillance and intelligence methodologies resulting in the arrest of the four accused responsible for operating the illegal SIM Box setup.

The accused have been identified as Y. Kamesh, 24, a diploma holder in mechanical engineering from Andhra Pradesh’s Parvathipuram, B. Bapaiah, 43, and B. Madhukar, 32, both from Jagtial district, Gotla Rajeshwar, 40, from Kishtapur of Mancherial district.

Further investigation into the cyber fraud case is underway to unravel further links including suspected international connections, particularly to Cambodia.
